richardvanle Posted April 13, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2011 Personally I took the opposite approach and removed the protective covering from the baseplate. Living dangerously I know...

marknorton Posted April 13, 2011 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2011 Removing that plastic film is, IMHO, mandatory to get rid of the truly ghastly compliance label.
george + Posted April 14, 2011 Share #5 Posted April 14, 2011 I agree with Mark.
menos I M6 Posted April 14, 2011 Share #6 Posted April 14, 2011 Removing that plastic film is, IMHO, mandatory to get rid of the truly ghastly compliance label. Haha - that was the one, I ripped off the second, I unboxed my M8.2 after bringing the package home ;-) I was very happy, to not find feature imprints all over the body of the camera in other places like: "24 x Zoom !" or "new stabilizer!" or "chrystal screen enhanced!" Some new cameras even seem, to have such crappy writings engraved (like in non removable)!
jaapv Posted April 14, 2011 Share #7 Posted April 14, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) What is wrong with getting your camera a chastity belt? I mean one can take off the black bottom before - oops I mean your camera's black bottom...
epand56 Posted April 14, 2011 Share #8 Posted April 14, 2011 Ehi, if I did not read this post i didn't notice there is a thin plastic film on the bottom of my baseplate... It is all wrinkled and with some dirt, but in the end i like it the way it is
Gerard Posted April 14, 2011 Share #9 Posted April 14, 2011 Dirty and wrinkled plastic bottom protection is just wrong. No woman I've ever met would ever go near such a thing.
ho_co Posted April 19, 2011 Share #10 Posted April 19, 2011 The more wrinkles, the more experience... "Proof of the pudding," or some such.
LeicaMSeattle Posted April 19, 2011 Share #11 Posted April 19, 2011 The film on my M8 had bubbled long enough where it began to lift up and become an irritation to the point where I carefully removed it to create a template for a laser cutter to cut a new protective clear film out of the 3M film that the nose of my 993 is wrapped in. It appears that the clear film over the compliance label has begun the same lifting process.
Gerard Posted April 19, 2011 Share #12 Posted April 19, 2011 ;)I hope you sought assistance from an adult when using that laser!
