Advertisement Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Hi Peter41951, Take a look here Brooklands pre-war driving tests. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elansprint72 Posted January 30, 2007 Share #2 Posted January 30, 2007 Particularly like the two shots of the Nash; and you managed to get a Harrier in for Dave Simmonds too! Cheers, Pete.
samwells Posted January 30, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 30, 2007 Yes, the second Nash is a really lovely shot, with the diminishing perspective of the road leading the eye onwards. Always wanted a Lancia Lambda, tho. ever since I saw a pic of one as a kid. Enjoyable series...thanx for showing. cheers: Sam
stuny Posted January 31, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 31, 2007 Peter - These are delightful for their subject matter, framing and full tonal range. Lovely.
Peter41951 Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted February 1, 2007 Many thanks for your kind comments. I've posted a similar FN shot, which in hindsight I think is better.
abrewer Posted February 1, 2007 Share #6 Posted February 1, 2007 These are fabulous shots Peter. All of the photos of the event that you've posted are tack sharp and the tones are wonderful. I hope William will chime in on the 3-wheelers in your other thread. He knows a lot of the history of Morgan as he drives one and has connections to the former owner and the current managers of the company. Great shots. Thanks for sharing them all. Peter41951 Posted February 1, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted February 1, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Allan Many thanks for your very kind comments; it does me no end of good. I've driven a 1924 Morgan for some distance from Killiney to the Wicklow Hills in Ireland. What a lot of effort! The steering is direct and considering the minute size of the car, it takes an awful lot of energy to get it to go round corners. There is no reverse, so you get out, pick the rear up, and point it in the new direction. The car belongs to a motorcycle enthusiast who also cycles his penny-farthing on Bloomsday. I had met the owner of the Frazer-Nash before as I was invited by a mutual friend to view the car in its workshop, and also had the good fortune to meet a man there who'd built them in the factory in the 1950s. Enough waffle from me....
