It was tough, reliable, and had a pair of folding jump seats similar to London Austin taxis in the back so it could carry five passengers (and a sixth up front next to the driver). Very nice, and quite rare to see them still as taxis. Most surviving Checkers are used as passenger cars, displayed in auto shows, and used in period cinema.
