click Posted March 27, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I have seen a 12526 used a f2 summicron with a rubber band to keep it from rotating. Will it also work on a later dual range summicron? Thank you, Click

a.noctilux Posted March 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 27, 2011 Yes, it can be mounted. A bit short but better than nothing at all. Why not using 50's hood ? Arnaud
click Posted March 27, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 27, 2011 I carry my camera with me everywhere and everyday. I've adjusted the strap so that I can protect it perfectly with my right arm and still get it off and in front of my eye quickly, the square hoods greatly facilitate this action and nestle quite nicely and safely under my arm. The factory 50 hood is large in comparison to the 12526 and I'm sure the square design is superior for stray light. In addition, my next lens purchase will be a 35 f2 summicron and would greatly appreciate the convenience of carrying one less hood. I wish I could get a metal 12526 and I'd like it even more if I could get it in black paint. I'm vaguely aware that Leica sometimes produces small production runs of things like these, though I don't know if this has ever been done for the 12526? I'm also curious to know if there's a square hood to fit the 90 2.8 elmarit?
click Posted March 27, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted March 27, 2011 What about the summarit 35 hood 12459? Because it's metal I see some appeal.
