mobeyone Posted March 22, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 22, 2011 Thanks! I take it is relatively straight forward to do?
Jeff S Posted March 22, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 22, 2011 Maybe yours will just fall off. Lots of threads on the lever; though I don't think color has been the issue. Check the search. Jeff
ho_co Posted March 23, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 23, 2011 Thanks! I take it is relatively straight forward to do? There's a current thread titled "M8 and new skin!" (http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/172715-m8-new-skin.html). In the second post, Mark Norton links to his 2007 thread on recovering his M8. One of his pictures shows how to remove the fastener. The flat plate at the bottom of the lever is actually the head of a screw threaded in the usual direction. Unscrew it, and the frame preview lever can be lifted off. So far as I know, they've all had the same shape for the attachment; but if not, whoever you talk to will ask you for more information about the camera. I've often thought about doing the same thing, but never got far enough to research it. So enjoy!
