DavidStone Posted March 16, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 16, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm trying to locate an article that, as far as I know, was published in LFI. It was about the photography course that was held at what was then known as The London School of Printing and Graphic Arts, in London. I understood that the article appeared in 1962, but I bought a set of LFI from 1962, and it's not in any of them. It would certainly be in the English-language edition. So two questions: - Are back issues of LFI from the early i960s available to study online? - If not, does anyone have a set from 1961 that you would be willing to check through to see if this article appears? It's just possible, of course, that it was not published in LFI, but somewhere else, although I'm fairly sure that my information is correct. Advertisement Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Hi DavidStone, Take a look here LFI 1961?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ismon Posted March 17, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2011 The info that you seek can be downloaded from the Leica Historical Society of America website. Their magazine ( Viewfinder) has two articles in volume 35, issues #3 and #4. Interesting stuff!
DavidStone Posted March 17, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 17, 2011 The info that you seek can be downloaded from the Leica Historical Society of America website. Their magazine ( Viewfinder) has two articles in volume 35, issues #3 and #4. Interesting stuff! Many thanks for this information. I checked the website, but it looks like I would need to be a member of LHS to access the archive of Viewfinder. Is this correct? And these two articles you have seen, are they reprints from the European edition of LFI in the early sixties? David
ismon Posted March 17, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 17, 2011 David, Sorry about that. I sometimes forget that not everyone is a member of the lunatic fringe. The sources referenced for these extensive articles do not mention LFI, nor date many sources prior to the 1990's.
