Love my R6.2's

Since I still enjoying shooting film my R6.2's are my hands down favorites. OK add to that my R 7. By most standards the R 6.2 is far and above any other 'Rs'. I also have three 'Ms'. 2 in 0.58 viewfinder and one at the 0.72 standard. The R 6.2s are solid as are the lenses. Sure I shoot some digital with Canon and a pretty broad spectrum of lenses. Feel the heft of their 200 f 1.8 l USM. But I pay the price. Two straps, one for the body and one for the lens. My Rs and Ms I can carry all day. For my Rs I have the 250 f 4 (late). Piece of cake. Granted I give up an 'f' stop or two, but the Leica's are much more fun to shoot and carry. Digital OK, but my first love are my Leica.

Hi,

What no pics! We can't have an "I love my ..." thread without any pics of said object of desire, surely that isn't allowed.

Which is best M6.2 all mechanical (like M6) or R7 electronic shutter (like M7). Which weights less?

The R8(heavy) and R9(still bulky) are just beasts when compared to R6/7 or Ms, so they never really appealed to me as a camera to travel about with.

Perhaps an R6.2 next to M6 for comparison pic?

Yours, Lincoln

I got a R6.2 a couple months ago to go with my M's. It is the correct size and gives me all the features I want in a camera. I currently us a Leica M, Nikon F, Hasselblad 501CM. The R6.2 even has one of those new fangled light meters built in.

Let's say that your were an amatuer photographer and you had a R4 that you liked. You also had two lenses a 50 mm f2 three can summicron and a 60 mm f2.8 Elmarit 3 cam Macro, and you had to get rid of one of the lenes, which one would you keep?

Yep, I like using the R6.2 and R7 also and Ms, of course. For Lincoln - here is a photo of R6.2 and M6 (TTL version though).
