Mr_Jones Posted March 15, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 15, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Setting aside a lot of variables I have two photos to compare, one from X1 and the other from M9. I have a few thoughts of my own, but it's only a fun comparison not a deeply meaningful critical view. Welcome, dear visitor! Viv Posted March 15, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 15, 2011 not a deeply meaningful critical view. You are correct. It means nothing.

Mr_Jones Posted March 15, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted March 15, 2011 Not nothing, but not much either. Would you like to discuss the X100 instead?
Mr_Jones Posted March 15, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted March 15, 2011 Please elaborate. I am looking at the similarities, and the differences. There are so many factors that are different with these two cameras and I think the images show this. Too many variables for empirical discussion, it's really make your own mind up time. Lightwrangler Posted March 15, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 15, 2011 Interesting. Must have been a swing-wing airplane

Danielsan Posted March 15, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 15, 2011 So i guess the first picture is the M9 because it looks better
h00ligan Posted March 15, 2011 Share #9 Posted March 15, 2011 Actually without cheating I'd think the second was the m9.
brucek Posted March 15, 2011 Share #10 Posted March 15, 2011 To me the first one has more contrast and shows a bit more finer detail. I would hope that the second one is from the M9 because if not the camera will have to go back to Solms to have the sensor cleaned...

AlanJW Posted March 15, 2011 Share #13 Posted March 15, 2011 I want to know which camera has the ability automatically to remove unwanted objects like engine parts. I have both M9 and X1 and neither of my cameras does this. Do I need new firmware?
Mikep996 Posted March 15, 2011 Share #14 Posted March 15, 2011 It's shot thorough an airplane window - the lighting/reflection changes by the second and a tiny angle change will affect how the image looks because it's through the double-pane of (smudged) plexiglass. There is no way to compare cameras this way. You could take 5 shots each a second apart from the same camera and everyone of them would look different. Mr_Jones Posted March 15, 2011 Author Share #16 Posted March 15, 2011 OK, no perspex or engine parts this time. Extra points if you can name the place. Welcome, dear visitor! Lightwrangler Posted March 15, 2011 Share #17 Posted March 15, 2011 You should start by wiping the dust of the sensor of your M9. It's too easy to spot! Welcome, dear visitor! Mr_Jones Posted March 15, 2011 Author Share #20 Posted March 15, 2011 I might just do that, but given the intense activity of the trip we were on I can forgive him for not cleaning it.
