Upgrade to Silver Efex Pro 2 not possible?

Has anyone experienced the same issue I have with the upgrade to Silver Efex Pro 2?

I own the registered Silver Efex 1 version and tried to upgrade to Silver Efex Pro 2.

 

The Nik Silver Efex web site states

Registered customers who own Silver Efex Pro version 1.0 are eligible to purchase upgrades to Silver Efex Pro 2 at a significant discount. Use the form below to choose your operating system, host application, and language. Then enter the product key of your current Silver Efex Pro software, and click Purchase Upgrade.

 

NOTE: If you purchase Silver Efex Pro 1.0 or the Complete Collection on or after 12/06/2010 you will receive a complimentary upgrade to Silver Efex Pro 2.

and the FAQ site has a similar entry ...

If I currently own Silver Efex Pro 1.0, how do I upgrade to Silver Efex Pro 2?

However, when I go through the process to purchase the upgrade, I get the following message...

"

Error: Unable to verify product for upgrade.

Please make sure you have registered your product and try again.

Your item was not added.

"

I inquired via the support contact page on March 4th, but besides the acknowledgment of my question on March 6th, no response from Nik Software.

 

Anyone with similar experience?

I have found the Nik phone support to be excellent. Look up " contact us" on their web site and call them. They are in San Diego, Pacific time.

 

I recently had a similar problem with the recent update to Viveza 2. In the update process the registration data in the system got confused and I could not run the program. It was fixed in a 5 minute telephone call.

so as WeinschelA pinted out, there seems to be something wrong with their "registration data in the system got confused"

late Y2K effect.
