But I will post this note in case anyone else reads this thread later. For a classic leica lens, I would recommend the SUmmicron 50/2 DR with its close focus goggles. Now, as others have noted, haze and soft coatings can be an issue. That said, if you buy a good copy from a reputable dealer or seller, you will be getting a very versatile, vintage-character lens.
