Hey guys what is this?

Recommended Posts

My 135/4 Elmar lens head does not fit ZOOAN because of the baffles in ZOOAN. The correct short focusing mount for the 135/4 Elmar is code 14071. For completeness, the oldest versions of the 135/4.5 Hektor required the ZOOBA conversion because the head was attached differently to the long focus mount. In the conversion the old heads were remounted in the newer head hardware.

I see this 3 baffles in the black paint/chrome version, only 1 in the all chrome version.

this baffles are easy removable in case of need.

One of the 135/4 Elmar head lens I tried works perfectly in the all chrome version.

JC, I checked my four mounts:

- Black and nickel, no baffles

- Black and chrome, 3 baffles

- Chrome, 3 baffles

- Chrome 14071, 1 baffle

The black ones have brass focusing threads, which are very bright and polished. I can see why they added the baffles. The all chrome ones have light alloy focusing threads, which are dull in finish. So maybe at some point later in production, the chrome ZOOANs also were manufactured with only one baffle.
