Hi Folks,

New member, new to photography, first photos.

Just playing around with my new D Lux-5. Previous cameras were all basic point and shoot cameras and I am trying to get a feel for all the features the D Lux-5 has to offer.

Be gentle, I'm still learning and the following photos were taken without the use of a tripod and with a lite breeze blowing. Photos were taken in my yard of our Pussy Willow trees in Bloom here in NJ.

Clifton,

Welcome to the forum. A fine shot you have posted with nice composition, colors, shallow dof and sharpness. I believe you will find the D-lux 5 to be a superlative camera. Use it a lot and show us more of your images.

Thanks Paul! I really like this camera so far but I am challenged with all of its manual features.

That's not a bad thing actually as I am confident I will only get better with experience.

Hey, I can't get much worse

One observation regarding the D Lux-5 is the depth of field with larger subjects such as portraits. It seems it is limited unless I am right on top of the subject or if the background is far away.

Regardless, I love everything else about it so far!

Thanks again!

Thanks Albert! Compared to photos I have seen here .

I think the focus and exposure could have been better on those shots.

I really am enjoying the quality of the photos this camera produces especially in the Macro setting. My wife can't laugh at my photos anymore.
