Michael Hiles Posted March 10, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 10, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have acquired and installed Silver Efex Pro v1 to work with PS Elements v5. During installation I chose the PlugIns folder as the destination. But when the installation process tries to find an application (i.e. PS Elements) nothing shows up in the table, and when I open Elements, the SFP does not appear anywhere. I was expecting it to appear as one of the Filters - but nothing. Does anyone know of an obvious fix, or something I am evidently doing wrong? All help and advice is most welcome and thanked in advance.

alexmann Posted March 10, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2011 I had a few problems with putting SEP into Lightroom. The easiest thing to do is to contact the Nik help team by e-mail. They were very quick in responding & very helpful. Regards Alex
tobey bilek Posted March 10, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 10, 2011 Find where it did go using explorer or spotlight ( Mac) and move or copy to plugin folder.
Michael Hiles Posted March 10, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted March 10, 2011 Thank you both. The Nik software is already in the PlugIns folder of PSE 5. That is mainly why I am stumped.
kaethe Posted March 10, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 10, 2011 In Lightroom, you select your photo, go to the toolbar across the top, select "photo", scroll down to "edit in" and select silver efex pro2, whereupon lightroom shows in the upper left hand corner" preparing file for...and it opens a small window for you to handle the edited photo (stack with original etc) then after you select it opens silver efex in a new window. Perhaps PSE5 will have some similarities? kaeth
Michael Hiles Posted March 11, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted March 11, 2011 Thanks, all. I called the appropriate number and was told that Silver Efex Pro is not compatible with PE versions < 6. Interesting, because about 18 months ago I tried the time-limited trial version, which worked fine with PE v2!!?? I post this on the off chance it may be useful to someone. Anyway, it is likely time to upgrade to PE9, since I (legitimately) did not pay for for either of my current versions. Thanks again.
