The differences between your, Jaap's and ONEaf's cameras are interesting to be aware of. Suggestion, probably unneeded: Don't bother trying to talk to ONEaf. He constantly says one thing, then something else; and claims that you misunderstood him the first time. But on aRGB, I do agree with him. 01af Posted March 10, 2011 Share #25 Posted March 10, 2011 Well ... my impression from this thread so far is this: Either the RGB colour settings issues are all in your heads —or— my camera is faulty as it is the world's only digital Leica camera not having any issues with the RGB colour settings while all the others have. First of all, the original poster never bothered to positively specify what camera he is talking about in the first place, so I shall assume he uses the same camera as I do. The solutions must be here somewhere. Follow these simple steps and hopefully you'll find the solution to this conundrum. If not then maybe we really are on to something. Switch your camera on and hit the SET button to enter the set menu. From the file formats sub-menu, select one of the formats including a "JPG" (i. e. JPG or DNG&JPG; any of these will do). Hit the MENU button to enter the main menu and navigate to the RGB colour space setting. Select "sRGB" and quit the main menu. Re-enter the main menu and verify the colour space really is set to sRGB. Quit again. Enter the set menu and change the file format to "DNG" ... i. e. DNG only, not DNG&JPG. Enter the main menu and check the current RGB color space setting. It will be greyed out and say, "sRGB". Quit the main menu. Enter the set menu and select one of the file formats including a "JPG" again. Enter the main menu and check the current RGB color space setting. It will be active again and still say, "sRGB," as expected—so the camera does remember the previous colour space setting when it's sRGB. Change the RGB color space setting to "Adobe RGB". Quit the main menu. Re-enter the main menu and verify the colour space really is set to Adobe RGB. Quit again. Enter the set menu and change the file format to "DNG" ... i. e. DNG only, not DNG&JPG. Enter the main menu and check the current RGB colour space setting. It will be greyed out and say, "sRGB," which is unexpected at this point but doesn't mean anything. Quit the main menu. Enter the set menu and select one of the file formats including a "JPG" again. Enter the main menu and check the current RGB colour space setting. It will be active again and say, "Adobe RGB," as expected—so the camera does remember the previous colour space setting when it's Adobe RGB. Sometimes the camera seems so remember the settings but if I try again I'm back to sRGB. gsall Posted March 16, 2011 Author Share #31 Posted March 16, 2011 Solutions 2 (I wonder how many solutions I will end up to and if any will work) To keep the Adobe RGB settings to JPG save the settings as a user profile. i.e one for Raw and one for JPG. I never tried switching off the camera in-between when trying the various settings. You're right—when switching off the camera in DNG-only mode (between steps 13 and 14 in the sequence of test steps outlined above) then after switching on it will have forgotten the previous colour space setting for JPEG mode and always return to sRGB.
