Thanks everyone, they are certainly better and thanks for the advice/feedback.

Re exposure, I always used to have this set at -1/3 for the majority of my shots but this would more or less always result in underexposure which is why I have been stumped. Yes I have increased the exposure slightly and this has had a positive effect so will continue with this and test asap.

All this aside, I Love the M8.

Or, use and incident meter, use an incident meter and use an incident meter. Then shoot manual.:) Jeff

Well-put.

And please, please, stay away from AE and EV unless you know exactly what you are doing. Go to manual and read up on exposure.

Well-suggested--best to leave the comp items alone.

I agree with both statements 100%--mobeyone, give an incident meter a go. It will assist you with exposure by (quite literally) removing the camera and its exposure-related quirks from the equation. A bit more here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/95937-manual-settings.html#post1005853 You can always come back to the in-camera meter later.

Your post-processing workflow can also be a culprit. More on some development procedures/process here--at least, something additional to think about: http://willstotler.wordpress.com/2010/09/12/post-processing-development-study-1/ and http://willstotler.wordpress.com/2010/09/11/post-processing-workflow/

Cheers!

Will
