earleygallery Posted March 1, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just recently I've had problems with being able to see images posted on the forum, when I'm on my laptop and using a broadband dongle. They keep appearing as a little white box with a red X - doesn't matter if I click on 'show image'. But, if I post a response to the thread then the images appear! I don't seem to have this problem on other websites, and it was fine with the dongle in the past. Has something changed to cause this or is it a problem with the settings on my laptop, perhaps something was altered?
Advertisement Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Hi earleygallery, Take a look here Odd problem with seeing images!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted March 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 1, 2011 It sounds like what you see if you're not logged in. I would think it's a dongle thing if you don't experience this behaviour when connected more reliably.
earleygallery Posted March 1, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 1, 2011 But it's not been a problem in the past (using the dongle) and I am logged in. Very odd! Also a real pain, as I packed in all my landlines at home and use mobile everything now!
stunsworth Posted March 1, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 1, 2011 Is it possible that your provider is providing cached pages to you so things appear faster? If so the cached pages wouldn't have been initially retrieved by a logged in account - hence the red cross.
