jaapv Posted March 1, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 1, 2011 Maybe not such a good idea..: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/159014-eyefi-my-m9.html
johnmoeleker Posted March 1, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted March 1, 2011 Eye-fi and the M9 is not a good match, but with the M8.2 it works wonderfull. At the site of Eye-fi you can find information about compatibility of both Leica's M8 and M8.2 :YES M9: NO
jaapv Posted March 1, 2011 Share #5 Posted March 1, 2011 That is utterly strange, as to all intents and purposes there is no essential technical difference between the cameras. I must confess that I cannot see any advantage in downloading files this way, except maybe for avoiding the physical effort of sliding the card into the card reader. When I download my images on my Mac, the file structure is controlled by Image Ingester pro, which lets me select images, add copyright info to exif, add the date to the filename, sort the images into folders, add tags, write to the computer and start up the browser of my choice all in one automated click. k-hawinkler Posted March 1, 2011 Share #6 Posted March 1, 2011 Strange indeed. The Eye-Fi seems to work fine in my M9. Just needs to be fairly close to the laptop.
k-hawinkler Posted March 1, 2011 Share #7 Posted March 1, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Later this year Eye-Fi will come out with an update that would allow iPad like devices to be connected without the help of a router. Advantage for me: I can better judge images when I take 'em than on the M9 LCD display.
germanlaws Posted March 2, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 2, 2011 Tried it half a year ago with my M8, didn´t run anyway. EyeFi told me, the problem is the metal-plate of the M8, it avoids wlan to take contact. Wonder, that you succeded. lg Dieter
johnmoeleker Posted March 2, 2011 Author Share #9 Posted March 2, 2011 Dieter, When the distance between my M8.2 and the apple-airport is about 50 cm it works fast en easy. Give it a new chance. John
