Pecole Posted February 24, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) It was very long ago, I mean : very, very long ago. I had visited Rolf Fricke, a founder of the Leica Historical Society of America (LHSA) and a marketing manager at Kodak, both at his workplace (the Kodak Museum, what a marvel !) and at home (his collection...crazy !), and in January, 1982, he took the opportunity of a business trip to return the visit. I was very happy and proud to let him discover then something he didn't yet know : the "Italian" Leicas IIIb and IIIc I had just discovered. And my wife surprised and delighted him in cooking a cake in the shape of a "L" for Leica. OK, this story is not "Leica history" (I mean for you, because for me it is !), but at least the two "souvenir" photos do illustrate a few Leicas. If you wonder what does this strange little plastic box camera at the center of the window's lower level (2d photo), just remember that I said that Rolf was a marketing manager at Kodak. It's a Brownie Baby from 1934.
