@Giordano,

John, as an aside, I find it quite spooky that not only do I have, or have had, three of the cameras shown in your photo, plus a few of those flattened pennies (the last collected on Saturday in Winchester) but I also somewhere have one of those "cube-within-a-cube-within-a-cube" things; I made it in metalwork 30 years ago as an exercise - happy days :)

Regards,

Bill

To the question "Do a focal lengths change the perspective?". My answer would be theorically no, though practically yes.

Indeed, shoot a scene from a point of view with a 35mm and 90mm lens and the perspective will be the same. Yet practically, you will have to reframe slightly to get a composition that suits the 90mm and this will impact the perspective. This is what happens in 99% of shots when changing focals, you need to reframe.

Yet practically, you will have to reframe slightly .... you need to reframe.

You mean someone is holding a gun to your head? That's the only time I "have" to something... ;)

Jaap - I think you're just not seeing the curvilinear distortion due to the randomness and general lack of rectilinearity in that particular subject matter. While you think it over - I'll go out and produce a "fisheye" shot with my rectilinear 90mm lens that will be unmistakable.
