menos I M6 Posted February 21, 2011 Share #41 Posted February 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks very much for the guidance - I will try to look at the camera in the next day or so. It looks very good in the pictures, so I will just try to get a feel for it - I'll check the curtain for pinholes etc, but I guess the real test is how it feels. The 35 Cron is Asph, uncoded also from 2005. I expect it to be in perfect condition. I don't need two of these lenses, so I would sell it here - I guess I can expect to get about 1,500 Euro for it? More? Cheers John John, the 35 Cron ASPH is a wonderful lens with little exceptions. Your mentioned price is about the going rate for this lens second hand at the moment. If it is the the black paint version including additional black paint lens shade opposed to the standard black anodized lens, it goes higher, but I don't know about usual prices. I would keep it together with the BP MP 2003 though, if it is indeed a matching BP lens. Your postings actually have inspired me, to check second hand MPs by myself again. Today, I will decide upon a reserved BP sample ;-)

Today, I will decide upon a reserved BP sample ;-) Yes, I love my 35 Cron (I have a chrome one). Had a look at the MP just now, and it is mint (only 10 rolls of film through it). It's a chrome version (which I prefer). The lens is also clean and smooth - it's black, with a rubber hood. I assume it is simply the standard anodized (how do I tell?). Have decided to buy the camera (the price looks good). Will pick it up tomorrow (he wants cash). I'll take some pictures of the lens and I'll put it on here for sale. Then I can start taking some pictures with it! Cheers John
menos I M6 Posted February 22, 2011 Share #43 Posted February 22, 2011 If the 35mm finish looks black matte and the lens feels slightly lighter than your chrome version, it certainly is a black anodized standard 35 Cron ASPH. The "rubber hood" actually is the rectangular plastic hood, that comes standard with the 35 Cron. It comes with a rubber cap, that is lost by some people easily. I like this hood a lot actually, as it is very difficult, to get fingerprints, rain or pretty much anything else near the front element. Good luck with the MP - I picked a BP version up today and I am already falling in love with it ;-)
IkarusJohn Posted February 23, 2011 Share #44 Posted February 23, 2011 Thanks Menos, The 35 cron went within less than 8 hours of listing (too cheap?) - one guy from the US was keen, but just a little slow (sorry). I had received the funds by PayPal in less than an hour and half after the first email! You wouldn't want to be standing in the way. I had no idea the second hand market was so HOT. Having said that, the lens was in perfect condition. So, my new silver chrome MP sits on the corner of my desk begging to be taken out. In the end, it cost me just under USD 1,900, and there isn't a mark on it. The only thing missing is the little QA sticker you get on stuff straight out of the box. Unbelievably lucky, I guess. Very happy, and thank you all again for your advice and assistance. Cheers John

We expect some MP camera-porn in the I Love My MP thread soon! Haha - the black paint MP looks a bit strange so new! I will do some product shots in time due with the new MP and it's worn black paint M8.2 sibling. But for now, there is no time, to make pictures of cameras ;-)
