Last week I visited my dad and stepmother since it was her birthday. I've just gotten started with wet printing and brought a couple of pictures, one of her and one of my one year old son. My grandmother mentioned some old negatives she'd found and wondered if I perhaps could print them - what an honor!

I just got home from printing a few of them, pictures from the 1950s when my dad was a little boy. Amazing! I sincerely doubt my sons children will be able to do that with my digital files - good thing I've got him captured in silver as well! :D

I used to regret most of the shots taken by me 30-40 years ago were slides because I never looked at them anymore. I use to wish I had used film. However, I now believe that this was a good thing because I stored my slides in Kodak carousels properly marked, unlike my negatives which are scattered here and there. If those they were digital, well they probably would have been lost too due technology changes, computer crashes, etc.

You are lucky to have those negatives. I have many from my parents estate and I cherish them.

Hi Wayne and Pontus,

I have a Leitz slide projector Pradovit CA 1500 with Colorplan lens 2,5 /90mm and I see the slides, with great pleasure, on a large screen over 2.50 meters (typically for home cinema).

What a wealth of color (Kodachrome, Velvia etc. ...) !

It gives me pleasure also to scan my old negatives and slides and print them.

Regards

Henry
