Hans Roggen Posted January 26, 2007 Share #21 Â Posted January 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) (A little OT) Â Focussing this lens really is a piece of cake. I have, what we call in Holland "a carpenter's eye", meaning an unerring eye for measurements. Still, i am very curiuous about those tricks. Advertisement Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Hi Hans Roggen, Take a look here Luminous Landscape review: VC15/4.5 on the M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lars_bergquist Posted January 26, 2007 Share #22  Posted January 26, 2007 What we REALLY need here is a Leica 15mm f2.0 asph lens (or f1.4, but who's kidding whom)! I would buy such a lens at the moment it was conceived, much less announced.  I would buy it even at f:4 -- if it could take an IR-cutting filter, and especially if RF coupled, and with a proper 15/20 mm bright frame finder. The Tri-Elmar and its finder is a monstrosity.  The old man from the Age of Prime Lenses
Vivek Iyer Posted January 26, 2007 Share #23 Â Posted January 26, 2007 Leica need not bring out another 15mm lens. The C-V lens, on full frame is a superb 110 deg rectilinear lens. There is this 15mm f/4.5, the ZM 15/2.8 and the Leica 15/2.8. Â Leica (or Cosina, or whomever) should try for an ultrawide of similar characteristics for the 1.33X crop. Option to use a filter would great.
carstenw Posted January 26, 2007 Share #24 Â Posted January 26, 2007 The CV12 has a good reputation, and is almost that wide...
erg Posted January 29, 2007 Share #25  Posted January 29, 2007 I added the 15 mm CV to my M lens portfolio just a few days ago. This lens gives you the oportunity to shoot some really exceptional pictures sometimes appearing surreal. It's a downer that the 15 mm is not coupled with the rangefinder, but it's great depht of field allows point and shoot in allmost every situation.  I love the results and the price of this lens. Especially, because there is no comparable option available from Leica. Welcome, dear visitor! grober Posted January 30, 2007 Share #26 Â Posted January 30, 2007 I just spoke with Stephen Gandy at Cameraquest. Unfortunately he is no longer able to substitute the 21mm finder for the 15mm finder with the purchase of a VC15/4.5. The 21mm finder is $128. Â Stan, Â Hee hee ... we could all see the smoke rising out of Stephan's ears when he read your first post on this and his phone started to ring...
