cbretteville Posted February 9, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I find myself in possession, for the first time ever, of a Leica (or any camera for that matter) that has a DX code reader. If it doesn't find a DX code it defaults to ISO100. So far so good, except I like to change the film speed up or down and it has no way of setting the speed manually. I could dial in +/- EV, but I'd like to do that as needed depending on the scene when shooting. The DX reader contacts look electrical and I guess regular tape fixes adding black squares, and I guess I could scrape off paint using an Xacto knife or something similar. Does anyone have any other idea/method/experience of somethings that is easy and works? Thanks, Carl

tgray Posted February 9, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2011 That does indeed work. Scotch tape and razor. You can buy replacement DX stickers I think...

cbretteville Posted February 9, 2011 Author Share #6 Posted February 9, 2011 Black tape, set speed manually. As I wrote in the OP, can't override it, the camera does not have that function. If it dosen't detect a code, it decides it is ISO100. C

pico Posted February 9, 2011 Share #10 Posted February 9, 2011 Ah, a CM. I am entirely ignorant of that camera. Porters has DX stickers. Not cheap, but if you reload you can re-use the cassettes. Search results for: 'dx labels'
