Optimal specs for the SDHC Card

I've tested it, with two class four. It doesn't matter going faster in camera. You're free to repeat the tests...guess I should have videod them.

It's a relatively moot point now though, class six are cheap and easy to find..fours are on the way out. If you have a four, run a burst and time it, compare to the six. Easy test.

I've tested class 4 and 10. About 2 seconds difference when shooting with DNG + Super Fine JPG setting. I use a Sandisk Extreme Pro now. Don't bother to test anymore.

I have the Extreme III 30mb/s. Let's do a comparison test for the time it takes for the 6 shot data transfer notice to disappear. I will time it 5 times and take the average.

I expect no difference. But if there is then wow- Leica really maxed the write speed.

Because we are going for maximum speed, my relevant settings are:

1.8mp JPG

DNG + JPG FINE

Continuous HighB&W High Contrast

SHARP: HIGH

CONTRAST: HIGH

EXT VIEWFINDER ON

REC HISTOGRAM: ON

SRGB

My test results are:

8.9s

9.2s

9.0s

9.1s

9.1s

AVG: 9.06s

I personally think that you hit a ceiling above class 6 - I ran the test, and I'd guess in your test there was some user variance. I did the test 3-5 times between a 4 and 6 and saw no difference, and there were different models of each.
