Swanny66 Posted February 5, 2011 Share #3 Posted February 5, 2011 I have been waiting on a 50 summilux for a couple months. Leica rep said they are backordered worldwide for the last 8 months I'm being patient......
a.g Posted February 5, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2011 I got mine from Kurland Photo - I told them of my interest and was able to get the lens in about 8 weeks - they were very professional.
mikelevitt Posted February 6, 2011 Share #5 Posted February 6, 2011 Contact Sean at camerawest.com. If there is one in the country, he will know where..
johnbuckley Posted February 6, 2011 Share #6 Posted February 6, 2011 It is always a good idea to check in with David Farkas at Dale Photo. He will give you a straight answer about how long the wait might be, etc. JB
deirdre Posted February 9, 2011 Share #7 Posted February 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm basically sure Keeble & Shuchat doesn't have one in stock. Apparently, the best way to get one is to plonk a deposit down at your closest retailer, then contact your Leica rep.
Washington Posted February 10, 2011 Share #8 Posted February 10, 2011 Odd, the "need" for a Noctilux reminds me of the automotive horsepower race.
Norwin Posted February 10, 2011 Share #9 Posted February 10, 2011 Please forgive those naysayers who will poke fun at your choice of lens. They know not of what they speak. They too are jealous of those who might gain this modest advantage over them - Thus, they poke fun at those who seek something they either choose not to want, cannot have themselves and for certain don't want you to have it either. Whatever is the time required for the arrival of your order from Solms - it is worth the wait. I watched the factory separating out poor quality0.95 lens and passing through only a tiny number of the acceptable glass - this past Fall at the factory. The workers on the Leica lens line are fastidious in what they approve and they turn away more glass than you might believe possible. And, this is after the grinding process. Thus, when you do receive your new 50 mm lens it will fast become the most wonderful component of your Leica system. And, it will give you as much happiness and thrill imaginable for a photographer to be thrilled with... It is truly worth the wait. With my respects and best wishes, Norwin
Washington Posted February 10, 2011 Share #10 Posted February 10, 2011 Sorry Norwin, You do not know of what you speak. Do you know what I am comparing the Nokton too in actual picture taking and making 16x20's with such? Guess again. Envious of what???? Sorry, lens graphs don't sell! Norwin Posted February 10, 2011 Share #11 Posted February 10, 2011 As I wrote earlier, pay no attention to the naysayers. They know not of what they speak. With my respects, Norwin
Xmas Posted February 11, 2011 Share #12 Posted February 11, 2011 Hi You will be telling us about the Leica glow, Rudolph and Father Christmas next. If you need a super speed lens for available darkneww, you will have to pay the piper, your wallet will be lghter, your gbag heavier, and you will have more veiling flare, etc, a summarit or CV f2.5 will be better for normal photos. bpalme Posted February 12, 2011 Share #13 Posted February 12, 2011 If he wants a Noctilux and can afford it let the guy enjoy that in peace. I always enjoy photos from the Noctilux.
