goatster Posted January 27, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All, newbie forum member but not newbie Digilux-- bought mine in 2004; sensor replaced a couple years ago. I have been trying to score an Elpro D on fleabay but keep getting shut out. Is there another lens I can use (maybe a Panasonic??) for macro -- I do not need (but would like , hence the Elpro trys) super optics for the macro, will be taking photos of circuit boards/ mechanisms etc for work -- If there is another lens, where can I get it? Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been covered already -- I appreciate the help!
Advertisement Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 Hi goatster, Take a look here MAcro Lenses?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted January 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2011 Goatster, Welcome! Panasonic do make a macro attachment which some feel is slightly inferior, though cheaper, than the Leica version, which is truly excellent. I have never owned a macro attachment so weighty! I am sure some members will give you first-hand views on the Pana version. Do try the Search function (top of page) and I am sure you will find several useful threads on this subject. farnz Posted January 28, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 28, 2011 Welcome to the forum, Goatster! You're looking for a Panasonic DMW-LC69 macro lens. They come up from time to time and, as David points out, are cheaper and a close second in performance to the to Elpro-D, which has a 2 cemented elements to the LC69's single element. Pete.
