Is anyone using C1 Express v. 6?

I can't decide if it's worth paying for the upgrade from the (non-pro) v.5, especially since I've more or less switched to LR3 these days. And the pro version of C1 is much more expensive. On the other hand, there are aspects of C1 that I like. Is there anything absolutely vital that's missing in the Express version? My processing is strictly single-image stuff - no batches.

And I know that I can download and use the trial version before buying, but I would rather like to get any personal opinions there might be, before I do that.

I've read the BW conversion review in theintuitivelens.com, but it deals with the pro version of C1, so doesn't really answer my question.

On the website there is a side-by-side comparison. My main reasons to get pro were multi-monitor support,B&W conversion and extended correction possibilities.

Thanks for your reply.

After much searching I tracked down the comparison chart of features. My impression is that I might as well stick with LR3, or if I do decide to buy C1 Express, to drop a tif from C1E into LR3 and continue from there. Sometimes I wish there were fewer of these raw developers competing for our attention, and our money. It's almost (but not quite) pushing me back into the darkroom.

Complete agreement here. Used to be, we had to show ourselves up-to-date with the hardware, having the newest fad--fisheye, mirror lens, etc.

Now the software makers seem to be bringing out their hottest new products every three months or so. I don't blame them for wanting to get in on the action, but to me it's an incredible imposition to try to keep up with the new features.

I'm not thinking of heading back to the darkroom, though. More like forgetting the camera and going bowling.
