gwg Posted January 27, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 27, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, After having used an M3 for a couple of years now with great pleasure, but using a Nikon DSLR for digital, I finally took the plunge and bought a demo M8 to try digital rangefinder photography. I've already gotten some wonderful images in combination with my 35mm Summaron (with goggles), but am having serious problems with the focussing of my collapsible 5cm Summicron-M (SOOIC-M). The lens keeps focussing further back on the M8, a problem it didn't have on the M3. The odd thing is that the 35mm Summaron works flawlessly both on the M3 and the M8. I would be very grateful for any hints.

jaapv Posted January 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 27, 2011 These older lenses are calibrated with larger tolerances than now,due to a sensor being more focus-critical than film.It sounds like you need to have the lens adjusted.
