How do you clean your X1 Lens?

I use microfiber cloths.. but I only use new ones.. even with a microfiber wash I don't find them clear enough of debris, so the old ones get relegated down.

That said, it's rare I have to clean the lens, so don't go buying stock in mf manufacturers :)

If I have dust etc, rarely I must say, then a blower brush is used first. If that doesn't do the job, I use a Leica microfibre cloth very carefully after gently breathing on the lens. The secret is to protect the lens when not actually shooting.

For me I find Lenspen to be very convenient for all my lenses. And the X1 too.

Awesome! Didn't even know this existed. Do you use the regular size or mini size? I'd like something small enough to clean my viewfinder eye piece as well. Really hard to get in there, this looks like it can get in those tough to reach crevices.

I think any cloth will scratch the lens if there is some grit in between to abrade. The neat thing about the lenspen is there is a soft brush at the other end so the trick is to lightly brush away all the particles on the lens before using the lenspen itself. I have used the lesnpen for many years and absolutely no problems.

Michael, I use the regular. I have both but find the small size useless for dlsr lenses, and I dont wish to carry two.

I have several Nikon microfiber cloths I use, which I rotate, keeping one attached to the camera case. I wash the cloth by hand with Ivory hand soap, then rinse very, very thoroughly, then hang up to dry. Works pretty well.

Received my pens, I got both the mini and large and I am very happy with them. I've used the mini to clean my viewfinder and the lens. I got the larger one in a bundle to clean my Canon lenses. As long as you brush off all the dust you don't need to worry about scratching the lens. Breathing onto the lens and then using the pen works wonders.

Very satisfied, thanks for the recommendation.
