Adam Marelli Posted January 25, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Walking back from the morning market, I spotted this woman. We were at the southern end of India. She was getting ready for work, I had already worked half a day. After she realized I took her picture she blushed. It was a sweet morning. Advertisement Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Hi Adam Marelli, Take a look here The Lady In Red . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pauledell Posted January 26, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2011 Adam, A fine shot with the composition, colors and local atmosphere. It looks like it needs to be sharpened a bit. Paul

Adam Marelli Posted January 26, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted January 26, 2011 Hey Paul, Anything is possible, I got a good laugh out of that one. thanks for posting a civil response. I feel like some of the threads head into "typing genocide land" very quickly. As for the sharpening, I usually don't sharpen portraits that much. I try to keep my M9 and M6 shots relatively consistent. So they could be sharpened a bit, but this one I left alone. Here is the shot again with 10 pts of sharpening added and 10 points of clarity. It makes her look a good deal older, but does bring out the yellow of her skin. If i did it any more, her eyes started to look really dark, zombie like. Thought I would send it just as a comparison. Best-Adam Adam Marelli Photo Adam, This is what I had in mind, but you may be right with the original picture. Sometimes a slight bit of softness is more complementary. I see what you mean. Ulev Posted January 26, 2011 Share #8 Posted January 26, 2011 Adam, I think this picture would have more impact when you would have excluded the (distracting) yellow bag on the left. Aiming more to the right, so the woman would have been positioned on the left side of the picture. Rgds Ulev
