1600mm

Recommended Posts

You bet... :)... but I see that the "Telyt 1600" retains the top handle that makes the 800 so easy to carry :p...

I have a vague remembrance... wasn't this 1600 quoted time ago, somewhere on the Net, as the most costly photo lens ?.

(btw, JC ... my 800 seems finally will have its Viso mount within a pair of weeks... posts to come... ;))

Luigi, ask to get the R mount to be back, also, with the complete new item.

Of course I keep the original part... indeed, it resulted to be a surprisingly easy task: the R bayonet is not fitted directly on the focusing unit part: it is mounted (with 90° rotation facility, as in other Telyts) on a 3,5mm thick / 72 mm diameter ring that is fitted on the focus unit by 4 standard screws (well secured) .. see hereunder:

The R bayonet is at a distance from this ring such that there is "room" to simply make an identical ring with a M bayonet - no critical tolerancing, apart, obviously the CORRECT positioning and dimensioning of the holes for the 4 screws : so, I ordered a similar ring to an experienced lab, asking them to avoid cheap 3rd party M bayonets... :)

Probably, Leitz did this way to have easy capabilty to mount the 3 different bayonets for which this lens was made (R, M, Minolta... this last I think hadn't great success...:p)
