The recent thread on "Leitz-Leica M promo ad" gave me the idea to start this thread. Indeed, I have always been interested in these evidences of the universality of the Leica, and of its historical, quasi-generic significance.

I start with five ads from France and Belgium.

1. An ad by French rep Spécialités Tiranty on the back cover of the "Bulletin de la Société Française de Photographie et de Cinématographie" for June, 1939.

2. An ad for the Leica IIIf by the same French rep in "Le Leicaïste" nº 10, 1952

3. Another ad, this time by the pre-war Belgian rep Nivelles, in the same nº 10 issue of "Le Leicaïste".

4. A poster offering to take back any Leica R3 or R4, even out of use, against BEF 15,000 (euros 375.-) for the purchase of a R6.2 or R7 with 28-70 zoom. Published in 1994 by Belgian (post-war) rep Masson-Draguet. The reverse side was written in Dutch.

5. A similar poster proposing the zero percent credit-sale of the M6, also in 1994 and also with the reverse side in Dutch.

More to come...
