The "Revue Leica" was published in Paris as from 1934 at the initiative of the French Leitz representative Spécialités Tiranty (known by Leica collectors through "S-T" engravings). Issue nº 18 for November, 1936 is partly devoted to photo-reports of the Berlin Olympics. Here is a tentative translation of the head article by the redaction :

"We publish in this issue a set of Leica photographs taken during the last Olympiads. A very limited number of photographers - five or six - having been allowed acces to the very grounds, others had to content themselves with shots taken from their spectator spot. In this case, the Leica offered the greatest possibilities, since the reporters equiped with a 200 mm Telyt could secure close views, as evidenced by the pictures published hereafter."And, also evidenced by the copies we submit here, they could also succeed in framing shots excluding any swastika. And that thanks to the German camera which participated to Nazi pride...Funny, no? But probably not fully appreciated by the Nazi "propaganda".

Another topic confirming that this publication has been printed 75 years ago when "political correct" had not been invented : one of the captions says : "The NIGGER Woodruff wins the 800 m. run.." Today - at least in civilized countries - you'd be fined for using such a word...
