Rivergull Posted January 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm about to spring for the D-Lux 5. Big money, with little left for accessories. What items should I concentrate on ordering along with the initial purchase of camera? I'm thinking extra DLux5 battery, 8MB Sandisk Extreme Class10 card, optical glass LCD protector and perhaps a Hoodman LCD viewer. Cannot afford a leather case. Whew! this stuff adds up! wda Posted January 17, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2011 It depends on usage how long a battery lasts. I'm impressed with mine. The Leica hand-grip is a 'must have' for me.
jtori Posted January 17, 2011 Share #4 Posted January 17, 2011 I ordered the handgrip, viewfinder and extra battery. I have to say, however, battery life is pretty good. I could not live without the handgrip and viewfinder, though. Joe.
RFly2Dive Posted January 18, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 18, 2011 I would get an EVF as i got an EVF-1 and like it....but I also got one of Roger's hand made hand grips and I love it. Just make sure before you attach it that you do clean the camera body with rubbing alcohol to remove any oils where the grip lands. You can get more information on the comparison in this forum at: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/86180-comparing-two-add-grips-d-lux.html Lastly I would save up for one of Luigi's half cases. For info just go to ebay and search the words luigi leica He has pics there and there are many comments as to the quality of his product on this forum as well. Hope that helps and I have no affiliation with Roger, Luigi, or Leica.
