ismon Posted January 16, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anybody know if the bayonet version of the POOIM will fit on a VEHIG? I was looking for a 30X magnifier, and found an old PLOOT much cheaper than a LWHOO. I thought I'd ask someone who has this stuff, since the answer is too obscure to be gleaned from old catalogs. I'm one of those guys who actually uses these museum pieces.
Advertisement Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Hi ismon, Take a look here POOIM that Rhymes?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted January 17, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2011 Waiting for the definitive answer from JC Braconi (*)... my idea is NO : the focusing stage VEHIG, I seem (don't have it) needs magnifiers that have a slightly different fitting , not exactly a "bayonet"... the "slip into" fit you find on LOOCG-LGCOO and LOOHW-LWHOO (*) ref : http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-collectors-historica/79435-little-11-a.html http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-collectors-historica/80126-little-17-a.html and see also http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-collectors-historica/132504-fontenelle-archives-8-viewing-leica-way.html
jc_braconi Posted January 17, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2011 Waiting for the definitive answer from JC Braconi (*)... Thanks Luigi, I just try a bayonet mount POOIM on a copying device OORES with a slip on type ground glass housing and you can slip on the bayonet mount and next turn it clockvise to lock it. luigi bertolotti Posted January 17, 2011 Share #4 Posted January 17, 2011 Thanks Luigi, I just try a bayonet mount POOIM on a copying device OORES with a slip on type ground glass housing and you can slip on the bayonet mount and next turn it clockvise to lock it. Curios... but looking at the last pic of the 3rd thread I linked above (from Pecole) it appears that the VEIHG's mount is indeed made in a shape that can accomodate someway a bayonet made for the PLOOT... even if "unofficially" ...in practice it's a "one blade -180° " vs. "4 blades - 45° "
jc_braconi Posted January 17, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 17, 2011 The slip on viewfinder are not full circular, a part is milled following the cord of the arc about 20 mm long. this is for locking the viewfinder against a screw, when there is, on focoslide or reflex housing. There is not on the VEHIG pict posted by Pecole Anyway as there are of the same thickness, bayonet mount can be mounted on slip on receiver.
