Sandokan Posted February 2, 2011 Share #21 Posted February 2, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Even without the mirror how do you recess the M lenses for infinity focus as the adaptor seems to be mounted on the surface?
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Hi Sandokan, Take a look here Leica M Mount Camera with Full Frame CMOS Senor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted February 2, 2011 Share #22 Posted February 2, 2011 Yes, but WHICH surface? Study the pictures carefully - a lot of thickness is cut away from the front of the Canon. The entire depth of the Canon lens release is missing. The front of the prism is 25mm further back than in the unmodified camera, cut back almost to the hot shoe. Note that the unmodifed body has a bulge out well beyond the "EOS" logo. On the modified body it is flush with the "EOS" logo. In addition, look at the 4th picture (front views, side lighting) The side lighting reveals that the large black area around the Leica lens mount is dished or recessed even further. In other words, a hacksaw has been used to remove about 14mm of depth from the camera body. Edit: A picture is worth a thousand words - the red area has been removed in the modified camera: Welcome, dear visitor!
