Default Dimensions for the Photo Section

With the ever growing popularity of the iPad and its native resolution of 1024x768, I'm wondering if it would be prudent to have the default image size in the Photo Forum equivalent to the iPad as opposed to the current 960 pixel dimension? This would also fall into line for the LFI MasterShot categories which are now viewable directly on the iPad via the LFI App.

This would save a lot of headache for those using iPads as portable Gallery devices, and/or those submitting to the LFI MasterShots categories since it would only be necessary to resize once for multiple usage? Personally, I stopped posting to the Photo Forum because it was a PITA to have to re-size, save, re-sharpen from my 1024 postings elsewhere.

So what say ye?

With the ever growing popularity of the iPad ... Personally, I stopped posting to the Photo Forum because it was a PITA to have to re-size, save, re-sharpen from my 1024 postings elsewhere.

One: I think it a very poor idea to determine the format by extrinsic factors such as the kind of devices on the up- or downswing in their respective markets.

Two: There are many more iPhones than there are iPads. By this kind of argument, we should limit the pictures to a size displayable on an iPhone or - perhaps - on a netbook. Do you happen to have any statistical evidence about which is the most frequently used screen size?

Three: How many pictures do you have to rescale and resharpen per day in order to publish them in the LUF? How much time does it take you to do so?

Four: There are quite a few members here who find 960px on a side ucomfortably large.

if we are going to vote, let's make it a maximum height of 600px so I can view full images on my little eeepc netbook.

</sarcasm>

I vote that images be no larger than 24mm X 36mm.
