Pecole Posted January 3, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the very early times of my Leica collecting (1968), I had the opportunity to buy an interesting "surplus" from the ULB-Brussels Free University. It was a wooden custom carrying case, 48 x 35 x 12 cm in size, ultra-resistant and very heavy, with fitted, green velvet covered interior. It had been made in 1950 by the Belgian Leitz representative (Etablissements Masson) on special order from the university's Archaeology Department to accomodate a Leica recording equipment for its field teams. The interior was shaped for - and contained when I bought it - the following then up-to-date equipment : - Leica IIIc camera with Elmar lens - Hektor 13,5 cm telelens with detachable head - LC60 light meter - PLOOT reflex housing - UXOOR bellows with UOOYW adapter ring - OOZAB sliding focusing stage - ZOOXY helical mount - LVFOO vertical magnifier - UOOVH extension tube for HEFAR lens head - OZWTO double cable release - FINOT 25 cm cable release Unfortunately, I still have the case (photographed in colour), but empty. I found an old (and poor) black and white photo of the complete "thing".
