elansprint72 Posted January 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) ....... on the Cheshire Plain, in the land of the Secret Seven. Beeston Castle has been a fortified belvedere since Iron Age times; the present stonework dates from the Middle Ages through to the rebuilding which took place after a right old battering during the Civil War. Some safety works have, of course been carried out in recent times; a swooping bridge replaces the drawbridge, seen in the first shot. Subsequent images show the views to the abodes of Earl Stunsworth of Pieland, the Zany Prince of Wirral, Lord Barton of Parkgate, Baron Rolo of Trafford (Old), Viscount D'TD of Withington and my own humble Palace. All of these places are approximately equidistant from Beeston Castle, where, as you can see it was a lovely day today, although this evening we have our first snowfall of the Winter. Cheers, Pete. stunsworth Posted January 21, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 21, 2007 What a nice bright day - in complete contrast to central Manchester today! Now I must go and tend to my serfs - my peasants are revolting don't you know!
