jjonsalt Posted December 21, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Needs to fit with hand grip attached and hopefully made of leather. Has anyone had experience with this or a similar case for the D-Lux 5?
Advertisement Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Hi jjonsalt, Take a look here Alternative case for D-Lux5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wmyowell Posted December 21, 2010 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2010 I'm not familiar with that case, but from the picture it won't fit the D-Lux 5 with the hand grip attached. I'm assuming the hand grip, like the one for the D-Lux 4 has the tripod socket in the center. Bill Yowell

Still, there may be something else out there.
Digitom Posted December 22, 2010 Share #4 Posted December 22, 2010 Hello, just another idea - I have this: cullmann-foto // LAGOS Vario 200 no leather, but a good hardcase for rough situations, also good when it is bad weather, very useful for protecting the cam with mounted grip, and also 2 SD cards fit inside the bag in a minislot which is attached with a velcro. Very practical. I put out the D-Lux 5 and hang the cam with the neckstrap in front, the little bag I wear on my side diagonal. Photos from that bag with the cam inside are here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digitalforum/148692-unterschiede-d-lux-5-dmc-lx5-5.html#post1527872 Also the Viewfinder bag can be mounted on the strap. Maybe an alternative to a leather bag.

jleicadlux5 Posted December 27, 2010 Share #7 Posted December 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are you aware of a Camera Shop in Germany that would sell and ship a Cullmann Lagos Vario 200 to me in the US? Apparently there are no dealers for Cullmann cases here, only the tripods and heads.
jjonsalt Posted December 27, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted December 27, 2010 That's what I found out as well.

Apparently there are no dealers for Cullmann cases here, only the tripods and heads. Really no shops there? I didn´t know that. I have no idea of a shop who sends to US from here, but I just checked ebay and found several members (new items, ebay shops from stores) who ship worldwide. But it was on german ebay: Original Cullmann LAGOS VARIO 200 Tasche /Kamera Tasche bei eBay.de: (endet 16.01.11 12:39:53 MEZ) Maybe if you click on his "MyShop" and you contact him via email he can send also outside of ebay. But shipping is expensive - 39 Euro! If I find another possibility I will tell you.

I just contacted them and was told that shipping would be 42.00 EUR, and even though the item was immediately leaving the county, I would have to pay German sales tax. So that makes this great little case cost $30.29 and the outrageous shipping of $55.44. That makes this little case $85.73. That's ridiculous and it doesn't even have a red dot! Digitom Posted December 30, 2010 Share #11 Posted December 30, 2010 Really too expensive, although Cullmann is a well known german brand here But I think sure somewhere in the US there is a Cullman representation. Try to contact cullmann Germany, maybe they can mention a US seller. Good luck.

Unfortunately. Maybe a chance is through ebay with cheaper shippin costs. or a aimilar hardcase bag. I have to say since I use that hardcase it is very cmofortabvle to have this because 1. it is a good protection during the actual waether conditions we have here (snow, ice-rain) and also if I put the camera insid/e it is very discret an not showing on the bag there is a little Leica inside. It looks like that many campact camera protecting units. real understatement By the way: HAPPY NEW YEAR on 01-01-11 (this is a real "digital date" - I mean not
jjonsalt Posted January 10, 2011 Author Share #14 Posted January 10, 2011 Not leather, but I have found a couple of cases for the D-Lux 5 that fit snug and without all the extra pockets and hardware that make storage bulky. I'm looking at ZING and Tenba. Hopefully a bit more digging around will fine something in leather but I think I need to give up that idea.
