srivastava Posted December 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) My camera (LX5) is arriving any day ( depending on the weather in UK). I have gone for a white one as it is a gift for the wife and she definitely wanted a white colour. Of course, I am glad to be able to buy the camera, irrespective of the colour, as my DMC L1 is not very portable. I hope to record videos at times though would predominantly would be shooting RAW. I was thinking of buying a Sandisk 16GB Extreme Class 10 (30mb/s) card. However, it is not cheap at over £60. Would a lesser speed card fulfill my requirements. What card do others use here? many thanks in advance for your help! Rajat
Advertisement Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Hi srivastava, Take a look here D-LUX5 /LX5 memory card - which one to buy?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Walt Calahan Posted December 15, 2010 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2010 Get what you can afford. I use an older 16mb card that operates at a slower speed on my LX5. Works fine.
Digitom Posted December 15, 2010 Share #3 Posted December 15, 2010 When I bought my D-Lux 5 I used an older 2 GB SD Card which is my "standard film" because I also own an older Digilux 2 and a Panasonic FZ-10 Bridge Camera and I want to use this cards in any of the cams. But last week I bought for test a Sandisk 4 GB SDHC card. But I can see no difference between the cards when taking photos, also HD video is no problem. So at the moment here in Germany the 2 and 4 GB SD cards are sold very cheap, so I use them, no more SDHC cards which are more expensive. Another advantage of smaller storage capacity: IF the card fails, there are less photos lost.
