Called leica about my repair

As most of you know I was having issues with sharpness..most noticable focused to infinity whether manually or af. I hadn't heard anything and they received the camera a week ago Monday so I rang them.

 

It's scheduled to be returned on Monday via 2 day air, so leica needed it for two weeks (much better than I anticipated)

 

The issue they found was with the lens assembly, which they are replacing, as well as testing and making sure everything is up to spec.

 

Figured I'd update you all and thanks again for the help in my sharpness thread.

That is excellent news, I am sure you will be very happy with a properly alligned X1. Nice timing too, I hope they give your firmware a seasons greeting!

 

Seriously though, I have had two occassions to send my M8 and lens to Leica in the past and the customer service has always been excellent.
