Lode Posted January 19, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Nice shots. On page 2 no 279 and 284 I noticed the same spot. Could it be dust on the sensor? Â Lode
scott kirkpatrick Posted January 20, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted January 20, 2007 Scott--Â But how do you like it!? Â Love it. It's ability to pull in indoor shots with backlighting in various ways (clear with new lenses as well as glowing with old lenses) and its high-ISO ability are eye-opening. I do forget to focus some of the time. But I'm too busy using it to feel like writing what would by now be pretty redundant praise for the good side of the camera. Haven't had any problems so far (knock, knock). I'm also watching how it helps me to see a scene in depth, and finding out what the DOF characteristics are. For the past year I've been shooting a GR-D which has almost infinite DOF -- now I have to work for that look. Eventually I'll try to use 50+ lenses and limited DOF, but I have an E-1 for that and it's not how I usually see things. Â scott

Could it be dust on the sensor? Lode  Yup.  A visible dust brush moves the spots away, but new ones appear. Also, there are some grease spots (broader, only see them at high f/nos), for which I have to get some swabs and alcohol. I was spoiled by my E-1, and only sent away for cleaning equipment at the last moment before the M8 arrived.  scott
