White Dot on my photos...

Hot pixel.

Various options:

i) Ignore it (won't show up in prints)

ii) Clone it out for each important shot (2 secs per shot) or use Pixel Fixer (Mac only?) to automate the process.

iii) Send it back to Leica for remapping or replacement of the sensor

iv) Try Lightroom (in my experience, RAW conversions with LR are less prone to show hot pixel anomalies than those from Capture One)

DAG sells black dots, red dots and LHSA dots..:p:D

Seriously, that is a hot pixel and Leica can map it out for you. According to most theories, cosmic radiation is the cause and you were just unlucky. You can see it on any brand of camera but I get the impression that CCD sensors are a bit more vulnerable.

Of course you can get by with the content-aware repair tool in PS/LR or a dust removal tool in RAW conversion, but you will have to send the camera to Leica at one point of time to have the sensor remapped.

Pixel Fixer is PC/Windows only, not Mac. It works on RAW (DNG) files only. Since I only shoot RAW, this is fine for me. I just run it on a folder full of DNG files as soon as I download them. I rewrites the files with each hot pixel replaced by a value derived from its neighboring pixels.

If you shoot JPG, then it isn't a solution.

All cameras have or eventually develop a few hot pixels. It's normal Some DSLR makers (such as Olympus) have a hot pixel mapping routine built into the menus. Leica doesn't, so if you want your camera to be "perfect" in that respect, you have to send it to them (and pay). Pixel Fixer is a good solution. Leica's remapping service does the same thing, they just code into the firmware what Pixel fixer does in software.
