Printmaker Posted December 8, 2010 Share #21 Posted December 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) After months of torturing myself, I decided that the only real reason I wanted a M9 was because it was quieter than my M8. For the $5,000 difference, I think I can live with the noise. Besides, I've grown fond of my 90 being a 120 and I love using my 35 Summicron IV as a normal lens. RichardM8 Posted December 8, 2010 Share #22 Posted December 8, 2010 Why not just upgrade the shutter of your M8 to the quiet 8.2 shutter? At a fraction of the cost for an M9.

Actually, I was thinking the whole package fro EUR1320 is not so bad given that it is only 200 EU more for the sapphire glass. LouisB
jaapv Posted December 13, 2010 Share #28 Posted December 13, 2010 I still think you should send your M8 in, as it is clearly faulty. It should have stopped taking great images the moment the M9 was announced.
