tag62 Posted December 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anybody know if leica or any other company has come up with a remote cable release for the s2. I mean 20 meters plus. ie Infra Red or something to that effect. I have a Strobies Interfit that works up to 100m for a Nikon D3x I have that works fantastic. Help would be much appreciated. tag62

Overgaard Posted December 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted December 4, 2010 Have you asked Leica if they supply a longer cable for the existing S2 remote control?

JMacD Posted December 5, 2010 Share #4 Posted December 5, 2010 I'm really curious what use you have for such a long release? I thing you are going to have to hack a short release cut in half and splice into an infrared transceiver. Eventually there was to be a wifi adaptor that should do the work for you, but no mention of it in recent times.
wildlightphoto Posted December 6, 2010 Share #5 Posted December 6, 2010 It might be worth your time to contact Michael Bass at Michael Bass Designs to see if he can make the release you need. He has been working with DMR owners to create several power options.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into the possibility of doing so.If it is possible that will be great Essentially, I use the cable release while I am out photographing. My work often includes myself in it. I usually prefer to work alone. Actually I dont need more than about 25m but the only one that has worked well in the past is the Strobies. Works well even in direct sunlight. Thank you very much for the suggestion.
