I have found that a B+W 54mm slip-on lens cap will fit perfectly over the ring that surrounds the X1 lens. The B+W part number is 69701; B&H's SKU number is BWLC54 and their price is $4.95. How does it hold up under testing? Have you tried turning on the camera with the lens cap in place to see if the lens will extend and pop it off?
