Lost M2 screw in viefinder eyepiece

Have managed to lose the screwin eyepiece for the viefinder of my Leica M2 camera and am having trouble locating another one- sad because it was a good user and is not functional without this component.

Have a camera shop trying to get one from the new Leica parts dept in Germany thet recently took over the parts jobs from England and as a consequence Ireland but for some reason they are having some trouble.

I think the M2 will accept the current version for some of the newer M models but !?

Would be glad of any help to get the camera back working.

Thanks

Eliot

Before you manage to get a substitute of your diopter-eyepiece

you could try to use your M2 with the GLASSES you are normally

using.

You should actually be able to focus your M2 even without the proper

eyepiece for the time being, just have a go ... Good luck, anyhow, to get a replacement.

I got the impression that it was the eyepiece itself, not a correction lens, that fell off? Leica Camera should be able to supply old-style screw in eyepieces of the late M6 type, i.e. with a rubber rim.

I'd email DAG. He has spare parts for just about everything. Email him a picture of what your M2 looks like with the piece missing. The bit in JC's post is a great little gizmo if your M3/2/1/4's VF is intact and your'e wearing eyeglasses like I am, helps protect against scratches.
