ishkra Posted November 26, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everybody, very soon i'll get a Voigtlander color skopar 25mm to fit on my Leica M8. Anybody know if the LH-1 rectangular hood is suitable for M8 or maybe it blocks too much of the viewfinder. thank you

DavidStone Posted November 26, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 26, 2010 Just tried it - you lose almost a quarter of the 24mm frame in the viewfinder. Too much, I would say. And it's too wide for your 25mm lens. On the other hand, the LH-2 doesn't cut off when used with the little Voigtländer 28mm f/3.5, and doesn't intrude nearly as much into the M8's viewfinder. I would guess that this might be a very efficient hood for the 25. But you'd need to try it to know. David
!Nomad64 Posted November 27, 2010 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2010 May I respectfully ask why you need that? The Color Skopar 25/4 already comes with its round hood and doesn't block any portion of the viewfinder. To my experience the lens itself is very flare resistant, thus making larger hoods redundant, at least IMHO. Cheers Bruno
