robert_parker Posted December 3, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted December 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Everyone Just to say that having had chance to confer with a number of interested parties during last weekend, it has been suggested that the trip could be better timed (and cheaper) during spring rather than between Christmas and New Year, as costs are likely to be more moderate, weather better and people's time committment a little easier. More venues are likely to be available outside the holidays, too. Consequently I'll cancel the trip for the 'dog days' and repost in the New Year, when the opportunities are likely to be better. lanetomlane Posted December 7, 2010 Share #22 Posted December 7, 2010 I feel it makes perfect sense to delay until the Spring. I also think it may be worth considering staying a Saturday night in Paris to make a weekend of it. Doing it in one day makes it a very long day, especially for those living outside London who may have a 1 to 2 hour train journey at each end of the day, just to catch the Eurostar. Just a thought. _____________________________ Regards, Tom

biglouis Posted December 19, 2010 Share #24 Posted December 19, 2010 Robert, this was never a realistic possibility for me but having cancelled, do you want to try and do our London dog-day meet which we seem to have been successful in organising for the last couple of years? Maybe start a new thread for it? LouisB
robert_parker Posted December 19, 2010 Author Share #25 Posted December 19, 2010 Hi Louis That sounds like a good idea - I've just sent you a PM I'll get ready to launch another thread
Falstaff Posted December 19, 2010 Share #26 Posted December 19, 2010 Thanks BigL, I was hoping someone would bring this up. Like last year, I'm hoping to be down, snow/ice permitting and would like to join you depending on day. Last year it was miserable and dumped it, but I enjoyed meeting you all in the warmth of the pub by London Bridge. Falstaff
